The rapid developments in fiber laser technologies and the increased demand of high-power fiber laser component fabrication have created the need for a dedicated and cost-effective high performance fusion splicer. It must be capable of processes outside of those available with standard production fusion splicers and glass processing equipment.
3SAE Technologies PentaPod® Fusion Splicer (PFS) is the world’s first table-top fusion splicer that provides capabilities that overcome the limitations of current angle critical fusion splicing processes to meet the most demanding requirements for the high-power fiber laser component fabrication.
The PLANEX™ product series are high performance and industry-proven single frequency External Cavity Lasers (ECL) based on RIO’s proprietary planar technology – PLANEX™. The PLANEX laser consists of a gain chip and a planar lightwave circuit (PLC) that includes a Bragg grating. The coupling of these components forms a cavity with significant benefits, with up to 20 mW output power, very low RIN, ultra-low phase noise and narrow linewidth, and very low wavelength sensitivity to bias current and temperature.
The recently released ODiSI 7100 Series provides thousands of strain or temperature measurements per meter of a single high-definition fiber sensor. The ultra-high-resolution data can fully map the contour of strain for a structure under test or the continuous temperature profile of a process in real-time.
