The PSM-003 series includes a 3-axis polarization controller (PSM-003-C) and polarization scrambler (PSM-003-S). They use the same patented all-fiber design as the larger General Photonics polarization controllers, and therefore have the associated benefits of low insertion loss and minimal back reflection. Both versions are packaged in a 2 cubic inch module. (Optional Measurement Grade versions of both modules are available with very low PDL and activation loss.)
The output SOP of the PSM-003-C is controlled via three analog 0 to 5V voltages.
The PSM-003-S can perform either continuous or random scrambling control. Continuous scrambling versions can be specified with one of 6 scrambling rate options, and random versions with one of four scrambling rate options.
